Working With A Client - Pub Test Shoot
This was my very first test shoot for this project. Having a pub atmosphere was one of my main ideas from the beginning so this was something I really wanted to focus on and I am rather happy with how some of these image came out.
The two images above are what I consider to be the hero / portrait shots of the bottles, I think the background works incredibly well with this bottle and idea. The image is very warm which is something I wanted as to me it makes it feel as if its a much calmer scenario and then more enticing.
To do the ingredient shots i had to look into what actually goes into the drink itself, to find this i look at a few different websites to make sure i had the right ingredients in the shot. I found the most common and strongest ingredients was Lavender, Rosemary and Citrus. So these were the three main ingredients i felt should be along side the bottle and i think they worked rather well with the colours popping out rather nicely. Also whilst looking into the language of flowers i found that Lavender symbolises calmness as well as purity which i think works really well alongside the bottle.
I did like these two images above but I just don't think they work as well as the previous two. The first image of the two above, to me, just doesn't work at all. Other brands can be seen very clearly and it makes the background rather busy and confusing. The next image works much better, the idea behind this was to showcase the ingredients within the bottle. I think the idea works well however my lecturer pointed out that I could use a little more set designing when it comes to the ingredients which is something I completely agree on. The till in the shot to the right is also a bit of a distraction from the image.
These images here I think work really well, I think having the glasses in the images really add to the whole idea of consumption, which was their main point of what they wanted. I really like the first left image and I think it would be the strongest of the 3. However as the images continue I think that the glasses make the bottle actually look rather small as the glasses themselves are massive.
Overall I think that this test was a massive success, its allowed me to get my idea to the best it can be, I know exactly what I need to do to make them better, such as brightening the bottle, clearing the background, maybe new glasses and change the positioning.
